A slice of Teak root is the material used for the Sanza trivet. A trivet is used to protect tabletops and benchtops from hot pans, pots, plates and other food receptacles. Teak root has a wonderful individual character in its grain pattern as well as the rich golden-brown color of the wood itself. The shape of the root from which the trivet is cut dictates the shape of the trivet so no 2 will ever actually be the same. The final touches to this product are a diligent fine sanding and application of food-grade mineral oil as well as steel handles firmly glued into the wood. The handles are sealed to prevent rust and exhibit the natural character of the steel and make it super easy to grab the trivet and move it around. When not using this item as a trivet it can double as a serving platter or cheeseboard. Innovative products with great rustic and natural character are the trademark of Rico&Plato accessories.
